OTHER FESTIVALS

On the 5 of January it's a tradition to light some bonfire, here called "pan e vin". they have an ancient propitiatory function. Around the bonfire people meet to sing, to chat, to drink "vin brulé" (hot wine with flavours) and to eat "pintha", a typical cake.

Every year, in summer, the municipal administration organizes some performances in an open-air theatre earning approbation and, during the year, many cultural events (such as concerts, exhibitions, ballets,...) and also sporting events (football, rugby, volleyball, tennis, cycling, mountain-bike, canoe, ... ) take place in Polcenigo.

The association Pro Loco Mezzomonte organizes "Agosto con noi" (August with us), with the Journalistic Prize, the traditional Sledge Race and the Cyclamen Festival, and, on October, the Chestnut Festival. The association Pro Loco San Dan organizes, at the end of summer, the Palio delle Contrade, an exciting contest of folk games.

In every hamlet we celebrate the patron Saint: Sant'Antonio Abate (Pro Mezzomonte), Sant'Antonio da Padova (Pro Sant'Antonio Sottocolle), S.Giovanni (Pro Loco San Dan), San Lorenzo and Santa Barbara (Polisportiva Santa Barbara e Associazione Santa Barbara), S.Giacomo (Parrocchia di S.Giacomo Apostolo).
